HOT ITEM -- Andre Clavedetscher has nearly a 3 Hour lead over second place
Wolfgang Fasching at Cortez, Colorado, 792 Miles into the race.
HOT ITEM -- Wolfgang Fasching moved up from 4th place to 2nd place since last
night's report.
Danny Chew dropped from 3rd place to 5th place.
Fabio Biasiolo moved up from 17th place to 10th place.
Team Secure Horizons moved up from 21st place to 11th place. Even though this
is a four person team, don't forget that each rider is over 65 years old!!
There's an article about this team in the Orange County Register of 7/22/99 in
which team captain Jewett Pattee says, "I want to show young people that if they
take care of themselves, they can do different things. They can enjoy the later
parts of life, sometimes more than the earlier parts."
Many of us will be going to France next month to compete in the 750 mile Paris-
Brest-Paris. By way of comparison, Andre Clavedetscher completed the first 750
miles of RAAM in 43.15 Hours and Wolfgang Fasching did it in 47.33 Hours!!
However, unlike the PBP riders, these cyclists have another 2,200 Miles to go!!
